How to mesure

  • How to measure

  • Things needed to do measure
    1. Measurement Tape (recommended)
    2. Step Ladder (if necessary)
    3. Pencil / Pen, paper
    4. Meridian Blinds worksheet
    Helpful Hints
    1. Try to use a steel tape measure for the most accurate measure
    2. Make sure you don't mix up your width and height measurements
    3. Please mention if you want motorized blinds with number of remotes and charges needed
  • How to measure Roller Blinds

  • Inside the Frame (Recess Fit)
Inside mount blinds sit inside the window frame or casing, provide a sleek look.
    1. Make sure you measure these in mm (millimeters)
    2. Measure the depth of your window frame, from the front of the opening to the glass
    3. Measure the width of each window. Measure your width only at the top of the window for roller blinds.
    4. Measure the drop (height) of your window opening from top to bottom; this is the number you submit for your window’s drop
    5. Write these measurements at the exact size with no deductions/additions. The factory will take care of these in production.
    6. Which side of your blind’s you want chain to be on? Consider which side is the simplest to reach, and will be the least noticeable. (You can chain the side while installing these blinds)
    7. Double check that your measurements and try follow the measurements in width by height format (W x H)
    8. Finally, you are all set to place your order with all your measurements
    Outside the Frame (Face Fit)
Blinds with an outside frame are attached to the window architrave or on the wall surrounding the window.
    1. First measure the actual outside width of the window frame (from one edge to another edge of window architrave), this is bracket to bracket width.
Note - If your window has no trims, we recommend adding 7cm on each side of your window. Mark these additions on each side and measure the width between them in a straight line or mention no outside trim so we will make adjustments accordingly.
    2. Measure the drop (height) of your window from top to bottom.
    3. Which side of your blind’s you want chain to be on? Consider which side is the simplest to reach, and will be the least noticeable. (You can chain the side while installing these blinds)
    4. Double check that your measurements and try follow the measurements in width by height format (W x H)
    5. Finally, you are all set to place your order with all your measurements.
  • How to measure Plantation Shutters

  • Inside the Frame (Recess Fit)
Inside mount plantation shutters sit inside the window frame or casing and provide a sleek look.
    1. First measure the diagonal points of the window and write it down. This is the depth of the window frame and we need this measurement to make sure window recess meets the minimum depth requirement for an inside frame
    2. Now the width of window opening should be measured. Make a note of the width of your window opening at the top, middle, and bottom. The figure you enter for your window's width should be the shortest of the three measurements; and this is your shutter’s frame width.
    3. Like width, measure the drop (height) of your window in three locations: left, centre, and right. The figure you enter for your window's drop should be the shortest measurement in these three; and this is your shutter’s frame drop.
    4. Submit measurements at the exact size with no deductions. The factory will do the rest in production.
    5. Double check that your measurements follow the width by height format (W x H)
    6. After this, decide how many panels you want for a particular window (Max width for a panel is 850mm and minimum is 400 mm). Also finalize the combination of frames (for example if three panels needed then they could be L+R+T+R or L+T+L+T or R+T+R+R or L+T+L+T+R etc.). Here L means left panel (hinges will be on the left-hand side), R means right panel (hinges will be on right) and T is T-Post which will be used to connect the panel’s hinges or other closing side of Panel)
    7. Finally, you are all set to place your order with all your measurements
    Outside the Frame (Face Fit)
Plantation shutters with an outside frame are attached to the window molding or the wall surrounding the window (if there are no window frames)
    1. The width of each window opening should be measured. Make a note of the width of your window opening at the top, middle, and bottom. The figure you enter for your window's width should be the largest of the three measurements; and this is your shutter’s frame width.
    2. Like width, measure the drop (height) of your window in three locations: left, centre, and right. The figure you enter for your window's drop should be the shortest measurement; and this is your shutter’s frame drop.
    3. Double check that your measurements follow the width by height format (W x H)
    4. After this decide how many panels you want for a particular window (Max width for a panel is 850mm and minimum is 400 mm).
    5. Finally, you are all set to place your order with all your measurements.
  • How to measure Sheer/Blackout Curtains

    1. Measure the exact width of the window opening from the outside edge to the outside edge of the window frame (left to right or right to left) and the figure you enter from your window width is actually your curtains’ track width. If you want to install the curtain on wall then measure it accordingly from one point to another (left to right or right to left).
    2. Once you have determined where you’ll install the curtain track, you need to determine the height of the curtain above the floor. Use a pencil to mark where you will attach your curtain (top of the curtain) measure down to the floor or bottom of the window and write it down. This measurement will be use as a height of the curtain.
    3. Now time to choose your curtain bottom border type or curtain style.
You can choose it from three options :
        (a) Just above the floor - This is recommended for curtains that will be opened and closed frequently
        (b) Sweep or Brushing - This style touches the floor and for this we need exact height from top to bottom (add extra if the surface is not even)
    4. If you want wall to wall curtains then please measure accordingly (One corner to another corner and don’t deduct or add anything but please mention the size of the cornice if it is there on the top)
    5. Finally, you are all set to place your order with all your measurements
    Curtain options
